EastEnders fans are set to say a sad goodbye to Tina Carter as Luisa Bradshaw-White is leaving the soap after seven years.

An EastEnders source confirmed to Metro.co.uk that there are plans for a major exit story for the character, telling us: ‘Luisa Bradshaw-White will be leaving EastEnders when her contract comes to an end. Bosses are staying tight lipped about the storyline but they have big stories planned and this is one of them.

‘Of course it’s always sad when they make a choice to write someone out but sometimes the creation of a big story means they have to lose a much loved character.’

An EastEnders spokesperson commented: ‘We can confirm that Luisa will be leaving EastEnders. Luisa has been a fantastic addition to the cast and we wish her all the best for the future.’

Executive producer Jon Sen added: ‘Luisa has been a wonderful member of the EastEnders company for the last seven years. We will all miss her dearly but wish her well in her future endeavours.’

Tina has been central to some major plotlines during her time in the show, including an abusive relationship with her ex, Tosh, the confrontation of her past trauma at the hands of Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) and her involvement in the iconic Pride episode.

Luisa’s exit follows the news that Jake Wood and Davood Ghadami will be leaving their roles next year in major storylines while Chelsea Fox is returning played by Zaraah Abrahams, Don Gilet is reprising his role as Lucas Johnson and Bad Girls legend Simone Lahbib will be arriving as part of Mick’s current storyline.

Will that play a part in Tina’s departure when she learns the awful truth about Mick’s past?
