Two salsa dancers found an ingenious way to keep dancing while maintaining a social distance. 

The pair wear face masks and hold a cord in each hand to maintain their distance and stay perfectly synchronised as they dance on the street thought to be in Madrid. 

Journalist Bianca Padró Ocasio posted the video on Twitter on June 29 and said: ‘Good morning. A friend of mine shared this video of social distanced salsa and it’s how I’m tryna be. Enjoy.’


The pair hold cords on the street, thought to be in Madrid, so that they can salsa dance while maintaining a social distance

She said the rope they are holding could be a jumping rope or an exercise resistance band.  

As the pair spin, they both remain holding the cords and manage not to get tangled in them.  

Social media users have taken to Twitter to admire their skill. One said: ‘I would be wrapped up in those cords.’  

The video posted on Twitter on June 29 has received almost 2 million views, with 110,000 likes and 28,000 retweets 

Another replied: ‘Wrapped up, tripped, and over in the gutter. But I’ma add it to my list of safer date suggestions!’ 

A third user said: ‘That is fantastic. Please let this become a new dance trend. I wonder if it makes learning easier or harder?’
